Yale University announced that Mario Felix, BS, MD, a clinical fellow at the Yale School of Medicine, has been appointed to the American College of Rheumatology’s (ACR) Fellows-in-Training Committee. Dr. Felix was appointed in November 2022 and has since lent his expertise and support to help develop volunteer opportunities, educational resources, scholarships, and educational sessions for fellows-in-training at the annual ACR Convergence and Educational Exchange meetings. He explained that he was inspired to become a rheumatologist during his residency when he collaborated with a rheumatology team to diagnose and treat a patient with psoriatic arthritis. “My goal is to create a … model that combines different types of clinical data, like a patient’s laboratory results, medication history, and demographic information … to predict health outcomes for patients,” Dr. Felix concluded.
