The European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) announced that Daniel Aletaha, MD, MS, MBA, has been named the organization’s new President. Dr. Aletaha, currently Professor and Head of the Division of Rheumatology at the Medical University of Vienna, focuses his research on arthritis and other inflammatory rheumatic diseases, precision medicine, and the management of complex diseases. With over 20 years of experience, he has investigated novel therapeutic and diagnostic strategies, biomarkers, and potential methods for improving patient outcomes. "I am deeply honored to be entrusted with this incredible opportunity to lead EULAR into a new era. Together, we will strive to empower individuals, strengthen collaborations, and drive impactful change that transcends borders and brings the rheumatology community even closer together,” highlighted Dr. Aletaha. “By unifying all … health-care professionals, industry partners, scientific societies, patients, and communities, we can achieve … a world in which all rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases are recognized, diagnosed, and ultimately prevented or cured,” he concluded.
