The Arthritis Foundation announced that Matthew Mooney has been named Chair of the National Board of Directors. Previously serving as the Board’s Vice Chair, Mr. Mooney is currently Co-President of the executive search firm ON Partners, has over 30 years of consulting experience, and has long supported the Foundation. He shared that when his daughter was diagnosed with arthritis at 2 years old, he was inspired to involve himself in arthritis research by joining the Arthritis Foundation in 2014. Mr. Mooney hopes to use his new role to build the Foundation’s partnerships, enhance community outreach, and improve health care for patients who have arthritis. “We have a strong set of priorities, including advancing our scientific agenda by funding innovative research and enabling the development of a diverse rheumatology workforce. We also prioritize improving [the] quality of life for people with arthritis through legislative advocacy and delivering expert patient education and empowerment program[s],” said Mr. Mooney.
