The University of Miami announced that Tali Czarnowicki, MD, MSc, IFAAD, has been appointed Associate Professor of Clinical Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery in the Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Health System and the university’s Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Czarnowicki focuses her research on both advancing the understanding of underlying immune mechanisms and identifying novel therapeutic targets for inflammatory skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, vitiligo, ichthyosis, acne vulgaris, and alopecia areata. She has also recently conducted new studies analyzing the tachyphylaxis of topical corticosteroids in patients with psoriasis, the impact of petroleum jelly on skin immunology, and the efficacy of climatotherapy in the Dead Sea in patients with various dermatologic conditions.
