The National Rosacea Society announced the recipients of its 2023 research grants program. The grants will support one new study analyzing the effects of four popular moisturizers on the efficacy of two topical rosacea treatments, in addition to continuing funding for two ongoing studies—the first of which will focus on single-cell RNA sequencing to illuminate cell interactions in rosacea, and the second of which will examine the impact of laser therapy on the skin microbiome and blood vessels. Since its inception, the Society’s research grants program has awarded over $1.6 million in funding to projects investigating the pathogenesis, progression, mechanism of action, cell biology, and potential genetic factors of the disease. The National Rosacea Society hopes the new grants can ultimately advance the understanding of the pathologic processes of rosacea and lead to improvements in its prevention and treatment. Researchers should submit their proposals for the 2024 research grants program by July 1, 2024, by visiting rosacea.org.
