The Melanoma Research Alliance announced the four recipients of its 2023 Dermatology Fellowship Awards. The awardees will each receive a $50,000 grant for an independent research project to advance melanoma prevention and detection. The researchers hope to use the funding to develop prognostic models for patients with acral melanoma, identify new therapeutic targets for patients with melanoma, analyze the potential for genomic instability to serve as predictors of metastasis, and examine the role of the APOE gene in the development of rare types of melanomas.
