The University of Miami announced that Marjana Tomic-Canic, PhD, has received the James N. Gilliam Memorial Lecture Award for her contributions to the field of dermatology. Dr. Tomic-Canic currently serves as Professor of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery and Director of the Wound Healing and Regenerative Medicine Research Program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine—and was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Society of Investigative Dermatology. “I am deeply honored for this recognition by my peers and … to receive this award. [I am thrilled] to join a spectacular group of thought leaders in skin and dermatologic sciences … [and] look forward to advancing the goals of the society and contributing to its continued growth and development,” concluded Dr. Tomic-Canic.
