New York University (NYU) Langone Health announced that Mario E. Lacouture, MD, has been appointed Chief of the Division of Dermatology at NYU Langone Hospital–Long Island. Dr. Lacouture has also been named Professor in the Department of Medicine at the NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine and Medical Director of the Symptom Management Program at the Perlmutter Cancer Center at the NYU Langone Hospital–Long Island. Previously, he served as Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine as well as an attending physician and Program Director of Oncodermatology and Research of the Dermatology Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. With expertise in oncodermatology, Dr. Lacouture hopes to enhance the prevention and treatment of skin issues during cancer treatment and improve patients’ quality of life. “The opportunity to lead NYU Langone Dermatology on Long Island aligns with my commitment to high-quality, accessible care … so that … more [patients] can access our compassionate, specialized care for side effects, with a focus on the whole patient,” concluded Dr. Lacouture.
