The AAD announced that it has elected a new Vice President and five new board members after concluding its annual election. The Academy revealed that Kevin D. Cooper, MD, FAAD, has been named Vice President–Elect and will begin his 1-year term as Vice President in March 2025. Dr. Cooper currently serves as Professor of Dermatology and Pathology at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and the Henri Pell Junod, Jr Chair of Dermatology at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Among the new board members are:

  • Laurin Council, MD, MBA, FAAD, Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Washington University and member of the Board of Directors of the American College of Mohs Surgery
  • Carrie L. Davis, MD, FAAD, a dermatologist at the Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital
  • Howard W. Rogers, MD, PhD, FAAD, a dermatologist at the Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System–West Haven and the William W. Backus Hospital
  • Alexander S. Gross, MD, FAAD, Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Community and Family Health at the Emory University Medical Center as well as Chair of the AAD’s State Policy Committee
  • Anthony Rossi, MD, FAAD, FACMS, Professor of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine and Assistant Attending Dermatologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, who will serve as the AAD’s Nominating Committee Member Representative.
