The AAD announced the appointment of the organization’s 2024 to 2025 Vice President as well as five new board members. Cyndi J. Yag-Howard, MD, FAAD, began her 1-year role as Vice President following the conclusion of the 2024 AAD Annual Meeting. Dr. Yag-Howard currently serves as Affiliate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.

The new members of the AAD’s Board of Directors—who began their 4-year terms at the close of the annual meeting—are:

  • M. Laurin Council, MD, MBA, FAAD, Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis
  • Carrie L. Davis, MD, FAAD, Clinical Assistant Professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Chair of the AAD Association’s Congressional Policy Committee, and a dermatologist in private practice in Indiana
  • Howard W. Rogers, MD, PhD, FAAD, a dermatologist in private practice in Connecticut
  • Alexander S. Gross, MD, FAAD, Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Community and Family Health at the Emory University Medical Center, Chair of the AAD’s State Policy Committee, and a dermatologist in private practice in Georgia
  • Amy Derick, MD, FAAD, Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at Northwestern University, Voluntary Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, an academic associate member in the Section of Dermatology and in the Division of Biological Sciences at the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago, President of the Illinois Dermatological Society, Vice Chair of the Florida Board of Medicine, and a dermatologist in private practice in Illinois and Florida—who, in addition to serving as a board member, will also assume the role of Chair of the Advisory Board.
